| Some people breed dogs as a hobby and show their dogs to evaluate their breeding stock. Others show dogs as a hobby and breed dogs to be able to continue showing. It is not unlike the "Which came first? The chicken or the egg?" There isn't one correct answer. We started with showing. Our youngest daughter thought she would like to try Junior Showmanship, but instead showed her dog in the breed ring. Not too much time passed before I wanted a dog to train and show as well. The rest, as they say, is history. My daughter no longer shows, but has expressed an interest to perhaps show again in the future. I still show as often as is practical, and most times my husband or one of my grown children will accompany me. This page has a sampling of some of our show wins throughout the years. |
